Recommendation by Wolfling: This was one of the very first Spike/Xander stories I read, and still remains one of my absolute favourites. Poetess says it's dark but there's a dark humour running through it and always a stubborn desperate hope even at its darkest. One of the stories I go back and still reread occasionally even years later.

Spoilers: AU future diverging (and written) the summer before BtVS Season 5, with one minor (and thoroughly Jossed) mention of Dawn.

Warnings: Bloodplay, depression, and suicidal imagery, with an eventual positive ending.

Summary: So, they're in love. And Xander's immortal. Everything should be hunky-dory - except. There're a few nasty little clauses that come with Xander's condition. A happy ending, but it's a long ride in a darkened DeSoto to get there.

Recommendation by WesleysGirl: It's one of those day in the life type fics that I'm really rather fond of. The language is just beautiful, evoking emotion throughout the story. It's lovely, and the interaction between the characters throughout is touching even when tetchy. There's nothing bad here -- not a single negative thing to say about this story.

Author's Notes: This takes place about a year and a half after "Oxford Revisited" (or, for those as obsessed with timelines as I am, October 2006). The distinction between demons and daemons is based on Renaissance magical theory.
